Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson, Anne Dudek and Edi Gathegi have been cast in the new season of "House" as candidates for a fellowship with Hugh Laurie's prickly Dr. Gregory House.
The famously dour TV doctor needs the help since last season ended with a virtual "House" cleaning -- the characters played by Omar Epps and Jennifer Morrison quit; Jesse Spencer's character was fired.
Wilde was most recently seen in "The Black Donnelleys; Penn in "24" and "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle"; Jacobson in "The Starter Life"; Anne Dudek in "Big Day" and Gathegi in "Lincoln Heights."
In making the announcement Wednesday, Fox wouldn't say how long they've been cast. With the mercurial House in charge they could apparently be gone at a whim.
The fourth season of "House," Fox's biggest scripted hit, begins Sept. 25.
